NFCB offers advantages for stations, with more in store for next year.

Member stations belonging to the National Federation of Community Broadcasters will soon be receiving reminders to renew memberships for the calendar year 2017. This is also a time for stations that aren’t NFCB members to consider adding membership into budgets for the year.

NFCB membership entitles stations to a variety of discounts and services to community radio stations around the United States. SoundExchange, Pop Up Archive transcription tools, streaming, Spinitron and gear are among the many resources member stations get at greatly reduced rates as members.

In the last few years, NFCB has shifted its focus to delivering more and more of its services online for member stations. From legal and underwriting handbooks in our member area to educational webinars, NFCB presents many important online services to stations. Our Solution Center, new to in 2016, gives member stations quick access to expert guidance by keyword, 24 hours a day.

NFCB member stations also have access to its essential email list. The NFCB email listserve a fantastic place to get advice from stations like yours, to ask colleagues how to deal with various questions, and learn about opportunities for your organization to do what it does even better and more effectively.

NFCB’s annual conference comes to its member stations often at discounted rates. These in-person meetings give stations hands-on training, thought leadership and a connection to fresh ideas and innovations from others in the community radio space.

With the end of 2016, NFCB is inviting member stations into a new initiative aimed at helping members raise funds during the popular year-end giving cycle. NFCB provides the tools, training and collateral to member stations on a reliable and popular interface in what is surely a no-lose proposition. Stations get funds, and NFCB provides a greater benefit to members.

NFCB launched more enhancements to member stations in 2017, including a regular ‘open office hours’ chat for stations, social media engagements and webinar series aimed at helping stations find new ways of generating revenue and content.

NFCB is encouraging current members to renew today, and for non-member stations to consider the benefits of NFCB membership and to join now.
