Here’s what you need to know about next week’s vote.

The Federal Communications Commission has rejected calls to delay its Dec. 14 vote to repeal net neutrality. The controversial decision has seen former Chair Tom Wheeler wade in on the issue. Groups like NFCB member the National Hispanic Media Coalition are active on this matter.

NFCB wrote in May for Radio World about the fears related to the upcoming vote. Stations are becoming increasingly dependent on digital. Smartphones and data plans are growing in popularity for media consumption, and data indicates this trend is only growing. The potential for cost increases is of major concern for community radio.
