A warning and reminder to full-power noncommercial radio stations has arrived:
The Federal Communications Commission last week assessed a second radio station a penalty for failure to upload issues/programs lists to its public file. The penalty is the identical to the first incident involving a separate station: a $15,000 fine and a reduction of the station’s renewal period from eight to two years.
The two penalties are due to egregious circumstances. Both stations had nothing in their public files as far as issues reports. However, all stations are encouraged to ensure your online public file is up to date.
