Noncommercial radio stations may include the following information in underwriting acknowledgements, provided that the information meets particular standards.

For your community radio station, following these rules will keep you in legal compliance and, most importantly, avoid potential FCC fines.

To ensure that on-air acknowledgements merely identify rather than promote a contributor or its facilities, products, or services, acknowledgements must be neutral, from start to finish. However, issues like prices, calls to action and encouragements are important to be aware of.

In the Solution Center, NFCB offers this page of underwriting script guidance (login required) to help community radio stations. If your community radio station is not an NFCB member, you can join today.
