NFCB allies at the Center for Community Media this week host a free webinar on how community radio broadcasters are dealing with polarization in their communities.

This panel features Jessica Evett, General Manager, Radio Boise KRBX (Boise, ID); Sally Kane, CEO, NFCB & former General Manager, KVNF (Paonia, CO); and Joseph Orozco, Station Manager, KIDE (Hoopa Valley Tribe). Kavitha Rajagopalan, Community Engagement Manager at CCM, will moderate the discussion.

From the Center for Community Media, “How can community radio elevate and give voice to communities that have been historically misrepresented in commercial media and pop culture? What unique tools do broadcasters have for conveying accurate information and cutting through divisions in areas with few news sources, rampant disinformation, and mistrust in the media? How can station managers protect vulnerable community members and staff in the face of militant right-wing extremism?”

This conversation happens Wednesday, February 24, 12:30-1:30 pm EST. Register here.
