Program Description:

This hour-long program is hosted and produced by master storyteller Joe McHugh and features eleven people from around the United States sharing family stories and memories of Christmas in their own voices. Each story is approximately 2 to 6 minutes in length and is followed by a short segment of music tied to the content and/or emotion of the story. These stories were collected as part of the American Family Stories project that began as a project at community-radio station KVMR-FM in Nevada City, California. The web site for the project is: In 2000, Joe McHugh and his daughter Anna were awarded a Golden Reel by the NFCB for best local documentary. This is a delightful program that showcases both our diversity and the common bonds we share as Americans, a much-needed antidote to the current forces of divisiveness trying to push us apart.
