[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Steve Baker has been Program Director at KVMR Nevada City CA/Sacramento since 1998 and is particularly proud of the station’s new facility, which features the only 4-stop elevator in the county. He’s spent a lifetime in the arts and was general manager of the satirical comedy troupe Duck’s Breath Mystery Theatre, which was featured on All Things Considered in the 1980s and PRI’s “Ask Dr. Science” for some 20 years. At KVMR, he received 3 Golden Reel special merit awards, including ones for his morning show and his collaboration with humorist/activist U. Utah Phillips broadcasting Nevada City’s Fourth of July parade. He also was producer and engineer for Phillips’ 100-episode national radio show on Pacifica, “Loafer’s Glory: A Hobo Jungle of the Mind”, which serves as an audio legacy of the late folksinger/storyteller’s work.
