  4. New FCC Requirements for Reporting Transmission of a False EAS Alert (effective July 23, 2019)

Effective July 23, 2019, if your station transmits a false EAS alert, the FCC requires you to submit a report about the transmission no later than 24 hours after actual knowledge of its transmission.

To report the broadcast of a false EAS alert, a station must send an email to the Commission at the FCC Ops Center at FCCOPS@fcc.gov, informing the Commission of the event and of any details that the station may have concerning the event.
