NFCB is poised to support Low Power FM (LPFM) stations in maintaining as well as growing into the powerful local institutions they represent.

NFCB’s 40 years of working with stations using a volunteer driven model makes it a valuable resource for Low Power FM (LPFM) radio stations. Today, 30 percent of NFCB’s membership is comprised of LPFMs.

In order for the Low Power FM (LPFM) community to seek shelter and support, there has to be a strategic vision between stations about what is needed and how the delivery of those services can work.

NFCB’s mission is clear: to provide services and programs that advance public media organizations to best serve their communities. We advocate for national public policy, funding, recognition and resources on behalf of our members, while providing services to empower and strengthen community broadcasters. NFCB’s vision is also clear and simple: NFCB envisions a nation informed and entertained by robust, local media that provide significant public service.
