New Construction Permit (CP) Holders
The low-power FM movement opened up many opportunities in the past few years for community radio stations to launch. Once an applicant is approved, the FCC grants a construction permit (CP) to the applicant. This CP allows the applicants 18 months to build their station and apply for a license to operate. This 18-month period is one of the applicant’s most critical moments. How is your CP holder (the organization in whose name the application was filed) involved in your station build? What do you need to do, and NOT do, to stay within the regulations of their CP and license. This informal conversation will give CP holders and new licensees a chance to meet, talk with others about issues, and to get guidance.
