Relevant Experience:
I have a deep appreciation for Community Radio, and the stations and people who practice it, because of the way we enrich the lives of individuals and the community: by lifting spirits, raising awareness, and making connections (to loosely quote Sally Kane). Community Radio has provided me with a home and countless opportunities, beginning as a WERU listener in 1993, then as a volunteer, member of the staff, and finally as General Manager for the past twenty-two years. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and insight, both specific to Community Radio and more generally about leadership and management, from many wonderful colleagues, excellent teachers, leadership training, cohort learning, successful station initiatives, and my fair share of mistakes. So much has been given to me and the station I serve, and now I’d like to give back and serve other NFCB Members.
