You can help your station to be more responsive when it is needed most.

“Emergency Preparedness: Lessons in the Heat of the Moment” is NFCB’s March 15 webinar, featuring Amanda Eichstaedt, station manager and executive director, and Richard Dillman, chief engineer, of KWMR in Point Reyes Station, Calif.

How does your community radio station respond in the event a fire, flood or other natural disaster strikes your region? How are your staff and volunteers trained to address urgent needs of your audience? This conversation covers emergency preparedness and community radio. Participants will gather insights from a community station that sits on a major fault, and is prone to flooding and wildfires.

You will learn how one station was able to work effectively with its area first responders, neighbors and listeners to be a go-to information hub. Their emergency preparedness efforts will inform your station’s thinking and response plans. And the lessons learned may help your station to realize the greatest success in service to your city.

This session is available to NFCB member stations. If you’re with a member station, contact NFCB about attendance. If you are not with a member station, you can join today.
