As Executive Director for the Latino Public Radio Consortium, Magaly directs the organization’s strategic growth, operations, fundraising & development, fiscal & programmatic areas to strengthen Latino public radio stations throughout the U.S. Magaly has been in broadcast & public media combined for more than 35+ years and possesses a wealth of expertise in strategic planning, business development, project management, compliance and fundraising and has raised over $50+ million from foundations, government & corporate sector. She is an ideation specialist who has developed unique Latino concepts & initiatives through strategic partnerships with public & private entities including broadcasters, universities, public media organizations, national NGOs, government, foundations, corporations & small businesses.
She has her own company Mag Advisors, a boutique consulting firm focused on strategy growth planning, and business development for corporations and small businesses interested in the US Hispanic market. Her clients have included Vme Media, AARP, United Way National Capital Region, British Broadcasting Corporation, HEAF, I Am Acceptance, Inc. and small businesses like Casa Latina, Derdau, Metiercrafts, Fundación Luis Muñoz Marín, among others. Prior to this, Magaly was Vice President of Development for HITN a national public service television network and in this varied role she has been the Project Leader & Manager, grant writer and creator of educational concepts for all of the organization’s projects and her leadership brought HITN over $35 million in funding within five years.
