[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Leah Todd is a journalist living in Taos, New Mexico. She came to SJN from the Seattle Times, where she covered K-12 education. In 2016, Leah was the full-time reporter for “Small Towns, Big Change,” a collaboration between seven Colorado and New Mexico news outlets to investigate emerging responses to rural problems. Previously, she covered education and local government for the Casper, Wyoming, Star-Tribune. She has investigated and written about turmoil in Washington state’s new charter school sector, disproportionately high absentee rates among Native American students, the ousting of a controversial Wyoming schools official and how residents of small towns in the West get and use local news. Leah earned a B.A. in journalism and philosophy from Marquette University.
