Senior Director Business Development, NPR

Joe Schifano is the Sr. Director, Business Development for NPR’s Distribution Division, which manages ContentDepot and NPR Distribution Services (“NPRDS”). The Business Development team includes Account Management for ContentDepot, Sales for NPRDS, Contracts Management, Financial Reporting and Marketing and Communications. Joe represents NPR at key industry conferences such as the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas, Public Radio Engineering Conference (PREC) and is a Board Member with the Public Media Business Association (PMBA).

Joe has served NPR for more than 24 years, beginning his career as Chief Accountant in NPR’s Finance Division. In 1997, he joined the NPR Distribution Division, in which he has served in a leadership capacity ever since. Joe has also held the position of Adjunct Faculty Professor at the Northern Virginia Communicate College for 26 years, teaching such courses as accounting, finance and statistics.

Joe earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
