If your station is not ready for Giving Tuesday yet, here’s why you should be.

Giving Tuesday is the day after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and follows the Thanksgiving holiday. It is a day for nonprofit organizations to make their case for donations.

Why should community radio care about Giving Tuesday? Last year, more than 2.5 million gifts were contributed online to nonprofits, with an average gift of $120 and a total of more than $300 million. It is a big opportunity to connect with audiences when all eyes are on nonprofits and giving during the holiday season.

Community radio stations are encouraged to utilize their social media on Giving Tuesday to explain how your station makes a difference in your community, and why donations matter. Photos of your station volunteers, video and testimonials will help you show your relevance.
