NFCB Webinar: Invigorate your End-of-Year Appeals (Members)

Read your last fundraising letter for your ustation. Does it inspire you? Does it stand out? Or does it have some big [insert date/any year] vibes? Learn how to combine well-tested tricks with community-centered storytelling to take your appeals from “meh” to “wow!”

This is an interactive workshop. Bring your last appeal or a draft of a current one and let’s dig into what is working and what you can change up. Fellow community radio workshop peers will be your sounding board, while the instructor gives you new ideas and strategies that you can deploy for all types of appeals.

In this 60-minute workshop, you will:
• Learn a dozen (or more!) letter-writing techniques that make your letter more engaging and effective.
• See examples of letters that really work!
• Exchange feedback with your community radio peers about ways to improve your last appeal or a current draft.
• Learn about segmenting your lists, timing, and frequency of appeals.
• The power of a clear and repeated ask, or sometimes no ask at all.
• Types of appeals: letter, postcard, email, and yes, even an annual report.

This workshop is for you if:
• You want to increase how much your appeals can raise each year in donations and total donors.
• You are new to the fundraising world or are feeling stuck in your current appeal writing strategy.
• You want to/need to try something different!

What we won’t cover:
• Mail merging, print shop logistics, etc.
• How to build your lists with new donors or direct appeals.
• Data analysis of your lists.
