With a media law career that spans over 40 years, Ernest T. Sanchez has served as outside entertainment and copyright counsel for many media organizations, including the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the Discovery Channel, The Smithsonian Channel, the Travel Channel, the Voice of America and First Nations Experience (FNX). He was the founding General Counsel of National Public Radio (NPR) for seven years and was on the initial legal staff of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). Prior to launching Sanchez Law Firm, P.C, he chaired the media practice group of the world’s largest law firm, Baker & McKenzie. Sanchez earned his JD from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. Before becoming a lawyer, he was a working broadcaster and journalist for Radio Denmark Shortwave in Copenhagen, Denmark and the Voice of America in Washington, DC.
