There will be a 2021 EAS test for community radio stations this summer. However, longterm planning requires consulting with expert emergency preparedness advice.
The Station Action for Emergency Readiness Project (SAFER) Emergency Preparedness Manual is a resource to help make every public station a trusted source of information in emergencies. It is available to stations now in the Solution Center.
Checklists, charts, diagrams, photos and action items are included in the Manual. Public stations, in return for the privilege of being broadcasters, owe a special responsibility to the communities they serve in times of crisis. Download a copy for your station from this page (login required). If your station is not yet an NFCB member, you can join here.
