The end for many regulations impacting full-power stations is getting closer.
The Federal Communications Commission meets this week, with changes to EEO report filings by full-power stations on its agenda.
Currently, full-power stations are required to complete documentation of recruitment practices and policies as part of their license span of eight years.
The Commission is considering eliminating Form 397, on the rationale that such documentation is included in the station’s new electronic public file. The new system goes into effect in March.
As it stands, few community radio stations will be affected, as only those with 11 or more full-time employees are required to file. You can read more on this in Radio World.
