Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has prompted worldwide concerns. Thousands have been diagnosed with the illness. Every state in the U.S. is doing testing for the virus. Major public events have been canceled. There is a good chance your community radio station is fielding questions from volunteers and your board of directors, and perhaps even your community.

How can you provide coverage on COVID-19? What accommodations are you ready to make for your on-air volunteers? Is your community media organization able to respond if coronavirus has a widespread effect on your city or town?

There are now resources and tools provided by the National Federation of Community Broadcasters for community radio stations seeking help in responding to coronavirus. Whether you need basic safety guidelines or ideas for how your station can effectively serve its communities and care for treasured volunteers, this information should be a baseline to help.

The guidance is now available in the Solution Center. If your station is not yet a member, you can join here.
