Community radio stations are experiencing conflict in cities and towns related to complex issues. How can your station engage topics in a healthy and effective manner for your audience?

NFCB is proud to invite you to a two-part free workshop series by the Solutions Journalism Network, designed to support your endeavors.

SJN’s Complicating the Narratives training is aimed at helping you find new ways to report on polarizing issues. It draws on the experience of experts in conflict mediation, to help media makers listen better, ask more revealing questions, effectively introduce opposing viewpoints, and embrace nuance in your work.

The trainings are May 18 and June 2. Sessions are interactive and involve break-out room activities, small group conversations, team brainstorms, and pre-training homework. This training will be led by broadcast journalist Hélène Biandudi Hofer.

The deadline to register is April 30. These sessions are being offered exclusively to NFCB member stations. If you are a member and need information, please contact us. If you are not yet a member, please join today.
