Improving Content Promotion, Donations and Sponsorships
This session demonstrates how stations can attract new audiences and encourage your audiences to tune in longer to your public radio content by employing MetaPub, a new service developed by the Public Radio Satellite System (PRSS). MetaPub is being used by stations and producers to synchronize text, images and links with live broadcasts of audio programming on smartphones with FM receivers, on HD and RDS radios, including car dashboards, and on web sites and other mobile devices. California stations have used it recently to issue test emergency messages about earthquakes, stations have implemented the service with local programming, and NPR is using it for All Things Considered and Morning Edition. It can also enable listeners to donate while listening to your station via their smartphones and provide new opportunities for sponsorships.
