Community media’s volunteer spirit deserves more recognition.
At the upcoming Community Media Conference, NFCB will celebrate volunteers and those who’ve given decades to community radio. Along with the conference’s intensive workshops, keynotes, sessions covering content, revenue, engagement and tech, and much more, we’ll present community media’s signature awards, including:
- Volunteer of the Year, recognizing the wonderful behind the scenes people who make community radio all that it is
- Golden Torchlight, recognizing stations that exemplify NFCB’s five stated values: collective impact, diversity, localism, excellence, and leadership in programming.
- Michael Bader Award. Recognizing lifetime achievement.
- Media Citizenship Award. For those whose community media activism knows no boundaries.
With national attention on nonprofit journalism and media, interest in the 2017 Community Media Conference is high. More leaders from around the United States and Puerto Rico are saying this year, like no other, is the time for all of us to gather, to collaborate and to strategize. You can still register.
