North Carolina community radio is invited to apply for a special opportunity.

The North Carolina Local News Lab Fund is seeking ideas to improve local news and information for the state. Organizations may submit a one-page letter of how your organization or project will help build the state’s capacity for more relevant and useful news and information for North Carolina’s communities. Participants can apply individually or as a group, but organizations must be nonprofits or be fiscally sponsored.

According to the organizers, “The fund is not focused on saving local news as it has been, but pushing forward changes that will both improve how the news and information landscape serves the public and makes that landscape more resilient over the long term.”

Further details are available here.

Stations are invited to apply until March 30.
