Chief Operating Officer, National Federation of Community Broadcasters
Beverly Hacker began her career as an accountant, first in automotive dealerships, then moving into public accounting after becoming a Certified Public Accountant. She was the audit manager for a regional CPA firm before moving into consulting on computer-based accounting and project management systems. Her consulting practice led to working as a turnaround specialist for architectural and engineering firms that were technically excellent, but needed help with ‘back office’ systems such as project management, accounting, billing and client management.
In 1993, she volunteered at KDHX, a small community radio station in Saint Louis, Missouri. Over the next 22 years, as station manager and executive director, she helped the station grow, thrive and become a valued cultural institution that is recognized in the industry as one of the best AAA music-format stations in the country.
For the past several years, Hacker has worked with the National Federation of Community Broadcasters and helped it become a ‘virtual organization’ by implementing a variety of cloud-based systems, including Salesforce, Quickbooks Online, Mail Chimp, SmartSheet project management and Live Plan business planning system.
